American Copper Butterflies are pretty small, even by butterfly standards, but they are quite lovely when you manage to get a good look at one. This one was in a natural wildflower garden along the Cape Cod Canal. I missed the flowers the first time I walked by, because I was so busy looking at the water. Note to self: Don't just look at the obvious.
